Lahore 30th July 2021: No delay will be tolerated in the development projects of Pakistan Railways. If there is any shortcoming, it will be the responsibility of the project director.The project director of any future project will not be changed until the completion of the project . These views were expressed by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati while briefing the ongoing development projects of the Railways at the Railway Headquarters Office, Lahore. The Federal Minister for Railways said that Railways was working only due to the good officers of Railways. He said inefficient people will be replaced by efficient people so that the railways could move forward on modern lines. He said that all the signalling projects should be completed within six months. No delay will be tolerated in the signalling system. Regarding the flats to be constructed for the employees in Lahore, Karachi and Narowal, it was informed that the flats in Lahore and Karachi had been completed while the work on the flats in Narowal was pending, on which the Railway Minister ordered to complete the work within six months and hand it over to the Railways. The Federal Minister for Railways said that wherever there is mafia in Pakistan Railways, it is an obstacle in the development of Railways, therefore mafia must be eradicated from every sector. ? There is no shortage of human resources in Pakistan Railways. Things need to be fixed. Work should be expedited to complete the locomotive projects. Talking about the repair and rehabilitation of coaches, the Federal Minister for Railways said that the rehabilitation project should be expedited and all the coaches should be rehabilitated and added to the railway system and additional coaches should also be available at different places. Chairman Railways Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani, Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmed Memon, Additional General Manager Infrastructure Asif Matin Zaidi, Additional General Manager Traffic Syed Mazhar Ali Shah Additional General Manager Mechanical Salman Sadiq, Advisor to Federal Minister for Railways Abdul Rashid, Director Public Relations Nazia Jabeen, apart from senior officers also attended the meeting .Later, the Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmed Memon visited Lahore Dry Port. During the visit, the Federal Minister for Railways was briefed on dry port revenue and Business Scope. On the occasion, Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati said that train container business would be started at the dry port soon and customs officials would not handle labor. The minister assured to solve the problems of labour. He further said that the mafia would be eradicated from the dry port soon and the Lahore dry port would be made profitable for the railways.
